Once you’re satisfied with your waves, let’s add some finishing highlights. Grab your white gel pen or white gouache, and add some lines/small dots along the tops of some of your waves. I always like to add a bit of sparkle to water, as it reflects even the smallest bit of light around.

I find that it’s often adding the finishing touches, such as white highlights or stars, that seem to tie the painting all together. Never underestimate the power of a few finishing details!

SUNBEAM SKYLINE

Hiding behind towering, fluffy clouds, the sun brightens the city below, its sunbeams stretching high into the sky. The city, with its tall and mighty skyscrapers, is silhouetted against the bright cloudscape, while the blue sky promises a beautiful, sunny day. In this painting, we’ll use tissues to lift and stamp out our towering clouds and an angled or flat brush to paint the city skyline.
